Founding Story

In law college, the first question we were asked when we said we wanted to pursue litigation was, “Second generation lawyer?” To which I always replied, “No.” And that answer always raised eyebrows. During the early years of college, I interned at Tis Hazari Court. That’s when I knew—I was built for litigation. It felt real, raw, and purposeful. I began to understand what it truly takes to become a successful lawyer.

Some said skills mattered. Many said background mattered more. I couldn’t change my non-legal background. But I could master my skills. So I focused—on drafting, research, and every courtroom insight I could gather. I sought guidance from seasoned advocates, asking them, “How does a first-generation lawyer build something meaningful?” Most replied, “You’ll struggle for the first five years. Maybe more. Just keep working under a senior. Maybe in ten years, you’ll have your own practice.”

But I was never built to wait.

By the third year of college, I had already started visualising my own firm—one that would be legally excellent, yet grounded in ethics and purpose. After graduating, I began practicing at the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, under an esteemed criminal lawyer. Just three months into practice, I felt ready to take on my first case.

While working under my senior, I also began shaping the foundations of my firm, Legal Chambers of Madaan Associates (LCMA).A year later, I decided to step out independently—to go all in—not follow the conventional path but create a new one. To break the norm, and build a new normal—where no one could ever say, “First-generation lawyers can't make it in litigation until they’ve got grey hairs.”

About the Founder

Utkarsh R. Madaan – Accomplished Legal Expert and Advocate at Punjab and Haryana High Court

Utkarsh R. Madaan is a distinguished legal professional and the visionary Founder of Legal Chambers of Madaan Associates (LCMA). As an Advocate enrolled with the Bar Council of India and a proud member of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association, Mr. Madaan holds a prestigious position within India’s legal community.

He is officially recognized as an Advocate on Roll at the Punjab and Haryana High Court, granting him the exclusive right to directly file and argue cases before the High Court. This privilege is reserved for advocates who are formally registered on the High Court’s Roll of Advocates. Mr. Madaan has extensive expertise in Criminal Law, Matrimonial Disputes and Contractual Agreements. He has represented numerous clients in high-stakes legal matters before the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Supreme Court of India. His strong academic foundation includes in-depth studies in Penology, Victimology, International Criminal Law and Comparative Criminal Law

In addition to litigation, Utkarsh R. Madaan is a certified Mediator, having successfully completed the 40-hour Mediation Training accredited by the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC), under the Mediation Act, 2023. His mediation practice emphasizes peaceful dispute resolution. As a dedicated social activist, Mr. Madaan is a passionate advocate for Men’s Rights and the advancement of Gender-Neutral Laws in India, tirelessly working towards a more balanced legal system.

Born and raised in Hisar, Haryana, Utkarsh R. Madaan completed his schooling at St. Francis Xavier’s School, Hisar. He pursued his B.A. LL.B. from Symbiosis International University (Nagpur Campus), where he developed exceptional legal reasoning and advocacy skills over five rigorous years. After graduation, Mr. Madaan relocated to Chandigarh, where he trained under an esteemed criminal lawyer practising at the Punjab and Haryana High Court. His early professional journey was marked by hands-on litigation experience, leading to the successful establishment of his independent legal practice – Legal Chambers of Madaan Associates.

Utkarsh R. Madaan is also a prolific legal writer, deeply engaged in simplifying complex legal subjects for the public. He frequently publishes articles promoting Men’s Rights, Gender Equality, and Legal Awareness in India. His interests further extend to social policy, geopolitics, and community outreach programs.
